Matured slowly in sherry casks, it's accessible in both aroma and flavour; easy to drink, young at heart for an 18 year old. Aromas are simple and attractive. Deep, rich fruit; ripe plums, tinned pears, tinned mandarin oranges. Soft vanilla fudge. With water, still fruity but more acidic. A trace of caramelised brown sugar. Digestive biscuits. Pleasant to drink straight - sweet, with deeper almond notes, hints of sherry and light oak, some malty flavours. With a little water (not too much) still sweet and mouth-filling; some digestive biscuits.
Knockando Distillery is an old fashioned traditional distillery that has retained its human touch. Located in Morayshire amidst the hills along the riveer Spey, the distillery is perched on a high wooded bank between present day villages of Knockando and Archiestown in Speyside. The name Knockando originates from the Gaelic phrase "cnoc an dhu" which means "little black hill"
