Schwarz Wine Co scores 5 Star Winery rating 2021 Halliday Wine Companion

Winesale is delighted to bring the wines of Schwarz Wine Co to New Zealand exclusively.

This GSM blend was a fave of the tasting panel! Aromas of red cherries, tar and licorice. On the palate sooo juicy and rounded, supple tannins brambly fruit, spices and cacao.

The 2020 vintage of The Grower GSM is a blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro that perfectly showcases the Barossa’s most popular red varieties.

Grenache 51% Shiraz 46% Mataro 3%

Fruit sourced from vineyards; Bethany, Vine Vale, Marananga, Hallets Valley, Gomersal, Moppa

The fruit was harvested depending on ripeness and flavour with the Grenache and Mataro parcels all hand-picked. All fruit was fermented in small, open top fermenters for approximately 8-15 days with wild yeast (naturally occurring yeast from the vineyard) Pump overs, hand plunging, and foot stomping was carried out as required. 25% of the blend is a whole bunch. The ferments were then softly pressed and kept separately until final blending. 60% of the blend was matured in small tanks, maintaining the freshness and vibrancy of the wine, with the remaining parcels matured in French oak puncheons and hogsheads.
