Garmence (Spain) 2017 Seleccionada Rioja

Winesale Exclusive import

Behind Garmence, is Charlotte Calvet, 7th generation of a Bordeaux based wine family.
Garmence Wine Studio was created with support from a lifelong network of producers that have worked with her family. Exceptional producers in each region of origin selected in France, Spain and Italy.

Fruit for this wine is selected from sites located in the south of Rioja - Rioja Baja.  A warmer and drier area than in the other regions, offering a perfect environment for the Garnacha. Indeed, this grape variety absorbs the sun to give aromas of juicy red fruits. The Rioja is then aged for 3 months in both American and French oak barrels.

Massena (Barossa) 2017 Moonlight Run GSM

Gold Medal & 95 Points -  Haliday Wine Companion Magazine
"Stacked full of luscious red and purple fruits, yet not heavy. A particularly good mataro."

Traditional Barossa varieties are sourced, Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro from dedicated growers in the deep red soils of the North Western edge of the Barossa. These include the sub regions of Greenock, Stonewell and Moppa. These rare vineyards host dry farmed, low yielding vines up to 150 years of age.

Massena is all about making wine from great vineyards and the way we go about it reflects this simplicity, with minimal intervention in the winery. Hand harvesting allows some whole bunch inclusion and the vineyard’s indigenous yeast is used in all ferments.

Mataro gives roasted cumin, cinnamon, peppercorn and savoury profile that is complimented by dark cherry and kirsch nuances from the Grenache. Some raspberry sweetness from the Tanunda Shiraz complete a truly complex and intriguing blended wine.

Vieux Lazaret (France) 2019 Chateauneuf Du Pape

Quiot family, winemakers since 1748, offer a large range of wines from the Rhone Valley and the Provence area. As a family, Genevieve, Florence, Jerome and Jean-Baptiste Quiot run Domaine du Vieux Lazaret.

Winery notes
"Pale plus dark red with clear purple rim. The nose is warm and beginning to show an attractive complexity characterised by understated red fruits and spice along with leather and tertiary notes. The palate is composed and lighter weight, again exhibiting a measure of bottle development in an appealing mix of red cherry and spice notes. There is a fine, balanced structure. This is an elegant, not heavyweight style expressing Cinsault and Grenache in particular, with the emphasis on finesse rather than power."
