Distilled at the Edradour distillery near Pitlochry on the 16th of May 2007, this heavily peated whisky has been matured in a single French Bordeaux cask for 11 years. The aroma is slightly medicinal, before moving on to a rich combination of caramelised dark fruits and a background of herbal peat smoke. The fruit flavours come through on the palate, before a burst of farm-yard peat smoke takes over. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 60.2%, straight from the cask, this is another big and bold dram from the team at Edradour.

Nose: Peanut brittle, hot Ribena, charred oak and a hint of dried earth.

Palate: Rather festive, with cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate-coated raisins and roast chestnuts.

Finish: Liquorice, peppermint, strong peat smoke and toffee apples.
