We can't tell you where this wine came from but we can tell you it is a cancelled export order from one of Marlborough's top wineries.

Lifted “riper green” aromas of blackcurrant leaf, nettle, and jalapeño. There are also notes of grapefruit, guava, and passionfruit.
This is a medium bodied wine with finely balanced acidity, and bursting with fragrant fruit flavours that persist on the long, clean, crisp finish.
Perfect accompaniment to summer salads, poultry and shellfish, such as Marlborough’s famous green-lipped mussels. Also try it with lobster and white fish.

"A juicy, berry-fruited red that is astonishingly good considering tax and other costs leave only a few pence for the wine itself." David Williams -The Guardian

This wine has been a genuine blockbuster  in the UK and around Europe winning praises from consumers and wine professionals alike. Evenwood (Barossa) 2017 Shiraz

17.5/20 Raymond Chan
"Full, near-saturated black-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has an elegantly concentrated and rich nose of ripe blackberry and plum fruit entwined with notes of liquorice and cedary, toasty oak, along with hints of oak resin, eucalypt and chocolate. Medium-full bodied, the fruit flavours are a little restrained, but unfold to show sweet, ripe plum and liquorice notes. Blackberry, earth, cedary oak and eucalypt layers add detail. The mouthfeel is plush and juicy, and balanced by supple tannin extraction lending structure, presence and weight. The wine flows with underlying alcohol power, carrying to a fresh, sustained finish with liquorice and cedar notes. This is a weighty, ripe, supple Shiraz with restrained plum, liquorice and cedary flavours. Match with barbecued and roasted red meats and casseroles over the next 5+ years." Raymond Chan (2015 Vintage)

Evenwood Barossa Shiraz has been our number one selling red wine for the last 10 years. The 2017 is a new vintage and is tasting better than ever. In the glass the wine has deep red and garnet hues. This follows through to a generous nose of spice, mulberry preserve, dark chocolate, mocca and vanilla tones. Complexity builds as the wine opens further with hints of earthy beetroot and tea rose. The savoury palate shows blood plums with sweet spice leading onto soft tannins.

Michel Torino (Argentina) 2019 Malbec

Four Stars - Joelle Thomson  (2016 Vintage)
"Malbec is the red that defines Argentina with its big, bold, intensely dark fruit flavours. It’s an outstanding wine at this price – offering not only value, but fabulous intensity in flavour, colour, aroma and wow factor." Joelle Thomson

Four Stars - Warren Barton  (2016 Vintage)
"Juicy rare steak screams out for wines like this one from beneath the Andes in northern Argentina. And so does anyone with a taste for malbec that is awash with blackberries spiked with chocolate and seasoned with pepper. A concentrated, cuddly red that represents great value for money." Warren Barton

Michel Torino Coleccion range expresses a prominent, "fruit forward" style, with pure varietal character and vineyard typicity. The goal is to produce elegant and complex wines for their category.

The colour is crimson red, intense with sharpening black borders. Distinct plum aromas typical of this grape enhanced by cherry notes, rosemary hints and subtle chocolate traces due to its oak spell. Mouth-Filling plumy fruit . Sweet attack with firm and fine tannins. Balance with notes of cassis, hints of vanilla and a long round finish.

Naked Vine (Nelson) 2019 Sauvignon Blanc

5 Stars - Peter Saunders (Wine reviewed under original label)
"Lively and racy, lots of flavours settling down at six months although the freshness gives the wine immediate appeal. Great aperitif or with a fish course. Perhaps a matter of taste some will prefer the freshness, other, will prefer this stage to pass. A fine glass of Nelson Sauvignon either way. Through 2021. It is delicately lifted on the nose showing grapefruit, Granny Smith apple, gun smoke and lemon zest characters. It is vibrant and linear on the palate with tight structure and bright acidity, finishing mouth-
watering and lingering. At it’s best: now to 2021" Peter Saunders

Nelson makes some darn good Savvy!

A tasty number from the Motueka Winemakers Group, packs a real punch.  Bright fruit, grapefruit, and crunchy green apple aromas. More crunchy fruit on the palate with a touch of mineral smokey character. Juicy, satisfying finish. Limited stock.

Fish and wine. Maybe the wine wouldn’t be as tasty at the table without the fish, or the fish without the wine, but one thing is for sure; why would we wish to lose one or the other?
