Amaru HV (Argentina) 2017 Malbec

Aromas of plum jam and raisin combined with slight notes of chocolate and oak. The palate is very well balanced with sweet and soft tannins. Balance between fresh red berry flavour and gentle oak. Long and elegant finish.
The Amaru wines from El Esteco come from the unique region in the Calchaqui valley. The Calchaqui Valley is a sub-region located in the Northwest of Argentina. At 1800 metres this terroir displays unique characteristics. Sandy alluvial soils, wide thermal amplitude, low humidity and drip irrigation from the Andes gives the wines a greater concentration of colour, aroma and flavour.

90 Points James Suckling

93 points 5 Stars Sam Kim (2016 vintage)
"Sweetly fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows blackcurrant, dark cherry, dried herb and smoked game characters with a hint of spicy complexity. The palate is succulent and beautifully rounded, delivering excellent fruit intensity backed by silky texture and chalky tannins, finishing long and delightfully savoury. At its best: now to 2022"
