Beach House (Hawkes Bay) 2016 Noble Sauvignon 375ml

A long and arduous fermentation has given rise to a very tasty sticky indeed. Flavours of orange blossom, ripe pineapple and citrus rind overwhelm the senses. The wine is honeyed and mellifluous across the palate flowing pleasantly to a silky soft finish. Enjoy chilled at the beginning of the evening with some blue cheese or pair with your favourite dessert.

Beach House (Hawkes Bay) 2019 Merlot Cab Franc

Winery description
"The Beach House Merlot Cabernet Franc blend is a brand new wine in our portfolio. This vintage we trialled adding some Cabernet Franc to our Merlot and low and behold! A new wine was born. The fruit was hand-picked, de-stemmed and fermented separately in small open topped vats where they were gently hand plunged and pumped over to aid in extracting the maximum amount of flavour and colour from the berries. The wine spent 11 months in fine French oak. The Merlot Franc screams black forest cake with loads of dense plums and chocolate. Soft and plush across the palate but with plenty of weight and length, this will pair perfectly with slow cooked beef cheeks. Will drink nicely well into the 2020’s"

Beach House (Hawkes Bay) 2019 Montepulciano

GOLD MEDAL - Hawke's Bay A&P Bayleys Wine Awards

Montepulciano is an Italian grape variety grown in the Abruzzi region of Central Italy. This block of Montepulciano grape vines have adapted remarkably well to the Gimblett Gravels site and the resulting wines have produced myriad Gold medals and Trophy’s to prove it!

Cherries, cranberries and dark chocolate with a touch of cedar are evident on the nose whilst the palate is intense and fruit driven. Bold, bright, boysenberries interplay with cedar and spice coming from the fine grained French oak. Currently delicious, but would easily cellar well into the 2020’s. But who can wait that long? … Seriously?

Beach House (Hawkes Bay) 2019 Syrah

Winery Note
"2019 was an exceptional vintage right across the board, but the one variety that seems to benefit most from these hot and dry vintages is undoubtedly Syrah.
Our 2019 Syrah was handpicked on April 5th in pristine condition with the infamous ‘dimple’ effect (caused by dehydration within the berries) evident right across the Syrah block. Once picked, the grapes were de-stemmed into an open topped fermenter and left to undergo wild fermentation. The wine was gently plunged and pumped over throughout fermentation to aid flavour and colour extraction. The wine spent a total of 27 days on skins before it was pressed off into French oak barrels consisting of 33% new oak. The wine was then left to age for 12 months in barrel

Boysenberries and blueberries alongside subtle cedar and spice are apparent on the nose whilst the palate is concentrated and powerful with a strong dark berry core. This is a strong example of Gimblett Gravels Syrah from an outstanding vintage."

Beach House (Hawkes Bay) Selection 2020 Chardonnay

Always a fave with Chardonnay fans and a bargain compared to others!

Winery notes
"Our 2020 Selection Chardonnay is absolutely superb. 100% handpicked. 100% whole bunch pressed and fermented in our finest French oak barrels including 21% new oak. 2020 was an exceptional vintage, with a long hot dry summer. The grapes were immaculately clean. The wine spent 10 months in barrel and was stirred regularly softening the wine and giving it lots of lovely leesy complexity.

The nose is filled with brioche, peach, melon and grapefruit pith with hints of toasted nuts and spice. On the palate the wine is seamless with many different flavours flowing nicely together. All the hallmarks of an ultra-premium Chardonnay are present – the fruit, oak and MLF flavours coalesce together nicely. "
