Giesen 0% (NZ) Zero Pinot Gris

Giesen have been perfecting thier range of Zero wines and have added a Pinot Gris!!

Alcohol-removed Pinot Gris features delicate floral notes with white flowers, lychee, and red apple on the nose. The palate offers traditional Pinot Gris characters of apple and pear with just a touch of muscat grape. Light, delicious, and balanced between acidity and sweetness.

Giesen 0% (NZ) Zero Rose

Giesen have been working hard to add to the sell-out alcohol-removed range a vibrant Rosé with the alcohol gently removed.

A New Zealand Alcohol removed Rose, boasts delicious stone fruit aromas of white peach, apple, and fresh strawberries. Those apple and stone fruit notes linger on the palate alongside crisp cranberry flavours and a lively, refreshingly dry texture. A fresh addition to any dinner table or social gathering!

Giesen Brothers (Germany) 2019 Mosel Riesling

Back in the early 1900s, August Giesen was well-known for travelling to Mosel to buy whole barrels of the region’s world famous Riesling. The Giesen brothers’ fond memories of their grandfather’s trips prompted them to purchase a vineyard and make wine in Germany’s most regarded region.

Expect aromas of tangerine, orange blossom, exotic notes of rose petal and orange marmalade. On the palate, look for citrus flavours, marmalade, and hints of nutmeg. A rich, vibrant wine with mouth-watering acidity and a long finish. Handpicking ensures only perfectly ripe fruit is selected. Following harvest the grapes were gently pressed followed by six hours of maceration to ensure their full, intense flavour was retained. Giesen Mosel Reiler Goldlay Riesling is a great aperitif or equally enjoyable matched with a meal. Germans love pork and Giesen Mosel and pork are a perfect match - try it with slow roasted pork belly or even a BLT.

Giesen Estate (Hawkes Bay) 2022 Chardonnay

A classic style of Chardonnay with stacks of luscious ripe peach and nectarine. Fresh and vibrant with a luscious texture, spicy cedar finish and generous oak influence.

After harvesting, fruit was pressed, settled and racked in Hawke’s Bay to preserve the quality of the fruit before transport to our Marlborough winery.  A portion of the blend was put to barrel (1,000L German Fuder oak barrels & 300L French oak) with the balance fermented in tank. The wine was inoculated with classic Burgundian Chardonnay yeast and aged on lees in French oak for 6 months prior to blending

Fruit was carefully chosen from Hawkes’s Bay sub-regions recognised for their quality Merlot - Bridge Pa Triangle, Woodthorpe and Moteo.

A generous Merlot with perfumed plum, spice and delicious notes of mocha, a delectable smooth and supple wine.

Giesen Estate (Marlborough) 2020 Pinot Noir

This is a Pinot Noir with wonderful red cherry, spices, bramble fruit and lifted florals. The fine tannins balance well with its acid backbone creating a generous, smooth wine

The fruit we select from the Wairau Valley gives the blend bright red fruit flavours. Compared to the Wairau Valley, the Awatere Valley is cooler at night giving fruit with intense dark colour and wild herb complexity

Try pairing this wine with; Crispy five spice scented Peking duck pancakes with hoisin sauce and Asian greens.

Double Gold and Trophy - New Zealand International Wine Show

Each parcel of Pinot Gris is harvested at optimum ripeness. Short skin contact adds flavour and texture to the wine. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, we used very select aromatic yeasts to make the wine more intense. We stopped the ferment early to retain a small amount of acidity and natural sugar to give the wine it’s off-dryness. The wine was held on lees for two months to help build mouth feel & texture, then blended and bottled.
