Main Divide (Waipara) Pinot Gris 2018

Crafted by the expert hands of the Donaldson family at the Iconic Pegasus Bay winery in Waipara. Adding a mix of barrel and wild yeast ferment and it drinks so much more completely than other Pinot Gris at it's price. This 2018 has rich ginger spice and a delicious honeyed botrytis thread permeating its luscious fruit... finishing off-dry. Although it will match with numerous white meat and seafood dishes it is equally appealing as a chilled white to enjoy at the end of a busy day.
Rich, mouth-filling Gris that is on the sweeter side but perfectly balanced.
If it’s Indian or Thai for dinner this is the near perfect wine for It is
Deep lemon in colour, with an expansive bouquet filled with aromas of pear drops, feijoa, spice and floral notes. On the palate it is full-bodied and unctuous, with a tangy hint of ginger. The earlier picked fruit adds freshness and satisfying acidity, while the late picked portion and lees ageing have increased the mouth feel and complexity of this wine

90/100 Cameron Douglas MS, August 2019 (2019 Vintage)

Only the second release of the Rose from Main Divide, made in the slightly out of the box style that the Donaldson family like to do things. Still great value.

Carefully selected grapes from an assemblage of complementary varieties including Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc were harvested to make this wine. The free run juice was given a small amount of skin contact to add some colour. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel vats at a cool temperature to retain varietal purity and freshness, with the wine being bottled shortly after. The Wine It is salmon pink, with fragrant aromas of strawberries, red currents & cranberry. On the palate it is dry and fi nely textured, with fresh and vibrant minerality. The influence of the Pinot Noir ensures the wine remains fl eshy and supple, while the two Cabernets contribute aroma and structure

Main Divide (Waipara) Merlot Cabernet 2017

The bouquet and flavour suggest blackberries, purple plums, cassis, cigar box and vanilla pod. There is an initial impression of softness but the wine then expands in the mouth to become muscular with a generous spine of ripe tannins that support and draw out the lingering aftertaste.
