The wine has beautiful stone-fruit and ripe pear characters on the nose with some citrus undertones. The palate shows a tight mid-palate with flinty characters that lead into a complex and juicy finish. Good balance from the toasty oak character that compliments the fruity structure. "This is a single vineyard wine made with fruit from our Rapaura Road vineyard, next to the winery. The vines were planted in 1995 and while the planting plan is long since lost, we believe there are up to seven different clones and rootstock combinations in the vineyard. The fruit was machine harvested in two passes. The picks were fermented separately and then blended back together. The early pick lends acidity to the wine and a strong ginger flavour. The later pick has more classic Gewurztraminer characters – lychee and lemongrass."

"The fruit for this wine was sourced from a single vineyard in the Rapaura area of Marlborough, famed for its alluvial soils. The grapes were machine harvested and gently pressed with only the free run portion being used in the wine. The juice underwent fermentation in stainless steel tank. Expressive characters of ripe citrus and grapefruit notes dominate the nose of this wine. Well balanced wine that finishes strong with floral and minerality that lingers on the palate. The palate is soft but focused with a med-dry finish that lingers on. The wine displays excellent fruit purity together with fine texture and mouth-watering acidity finishes linear and persistent. This wine is very approachable now however it will reward cellaring for the next 10 years."

A blend of 50% Chardonnay, 46% Pinot Noir and 4% Pinot Meunier. Made in a classical Champenoise. 

Oooozing complexity and surely underpriced.....The nose exhibits light yeasty characters with peach and citrus aromas. An elegant palate showing a blend of peach/citrus chardonnay components followed by the light berry fruits of the pinot noir. The mouth filling mousse completes the palate that is full and persistent.
