This Cabernet from the Clare valley is always a winner for us and the 2021 vintage is no exception. A bouquet of lifted blackcurrant aromas with a hint of sweet vanillin oak. The palate shows rich and plush with generous black fruits and berries. Notes of spice and oak combine with robust tannins, resulting in an elegant expression of an outstanding Clare Valley Cabernet. The ever popular Kingston flagship Estate Shiraz is back with a brand new vintage.

Clare Valley vineyards yielded the fruit for this Shiraz. The unique combination of geography, geology and climate is synonymous for producing high quality wines. Lifted red currant and dark plum aromas, accompanied by subtle vanillin and spice. Delightful juicy fruit characters follow onto the palate and combine harmoniously with smooth tannins. The resulting wine is generous with a long persistent finish.

Pair with barbecued meats and chargrilled vegetables.

Le Petit Chat Malin (France) 2023 Rouge

Super popular last vintage. Back by popular demand.

Made from parcels of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan grown in Costières de Nîmes on red pebble and limestone terroir. Fermentation is kept short to preserve the generous fruit flavours. All the varieties are vinified separately to give Guillaume full flexibility when it comes to blending. The tannins from these sun-ripened grapes soften quickly, so very little ageing is required to keep it supple and more-ish.

Aromas of red berries leads to a juicy palate with savoury notes. The soft tannins give the wine a round, velvety mouthfeel making it very easy-drinking.

Try with a slightly spicy beef cassoulet, some mature hard cheeses, or a mushroom risotto.

Les Volets IGP (Cotes de Thau) 2021 Cabernet

The vineyards of the Côtes de Thau surround the lagoons of the Bassin de Thau and benefit from a Mediterranean climate combined with gentle sea breezes, giving wines with great freshness and concentration.

Refreshing and fragrant with dark berry fruit on the nose. The palate offers a juicy blackcurrant crunch.

Match with roast beef, leg of lamb or mimolette cheese are perfect matches for this young and delicious Cabernet. For vegetarian option, Portobello Mushroom will pair very well.

Los Arboles (Argentina) 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon

Los Árboles is a range of young wines produced by Navarro Correas of Mendoza. These wines are always expressive of their variety with a particularly smooth character and expressive aromas. The name is inspired by the guardian poplars that shelter the vineyards from the strong winds coming from the Andes mountains.

This is an outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon which typifies the incredible value-for-money on offer from the Mendoza region. Aromas and flavors that evoke red and black fruits combined with mild spicy notes. A moderately intense wine with soft tannins.

"Upon release it has a bright ruby hue. The nose is soft and inviting, slowly unfurling with nuances of tamarillo, pomegranate and gogi berry, interlaced with touches of vanilla, woodsmoke, lavender and an earthy, savoury underlay. The palate is sweetly fruited and supple, with plush polished tannins and a ripe, spice driven mouthfeel. An ethereal and elegant wine, coupled with a rounded body and splash of refreshing acidity that provides harmony and length, flowing perfectly through to its long, rewarding finish."

Hand picked at perfect ripeness. Varieties are fermented separately into thermoregulated stainless steel tanks with a maceration period of 20-25 days. Once pressed and racked, they age for 12-18 months in French barrels and tonneaux before being blended and bottled on site.

Mansalto (Italy) 2020 Stroncoli Toscana

40% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot.

Hand picked at perfect ripeness. Varieties are fermented separately into thermoregulated stainless steel tanks with a maceration period of 20-28 days. Once pressed and racked, they age for 12 months in French barrels, tonneaux and 35 hL casks before being blended and bottled on site. Deep ruby red color with a large shine. Red fruits in spirits, cherry alternating with floral notes like violet macerated in alcohol. Notes of vanilla and nutmeg. Closure with hints of licorice, galestro and graphite. Slight almond note that follows a soft tannin. Good and long persistence. Retro-olfactory notes of red fruits and spices.

Maude (Central Otago) 2023 EMW Pinot Noir

"A celebration of two blocks of mature Pinot Noir from the Mt Maude Vineyard. As the name suggests, the blocks face opposite directions. Made in a different style - 100% whole cluster, clone 10-5, often only one pigaege during the ferment - definitely a unique winemaking twist on Pinot production. A bewitching perfume, paler in colour yet full, luscious and complex. Love it or hate it, this Pinot Noir certainly creates some debate."

Michel Torino (Argentina) 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon

Each of the Coleccion range is sourced from entirely estate owned vineyards throughout the Cafayate Valley. Representing presenting true character of the varietal. The wines are produced in a young, juicy style with minimal oak influence. The Cabernet has blackberry, pepper and paprika aromas, with nut and toasted notes. Pepper, raspberry and blackcurrant flavors, with vanilla and tobacco notes on the long finish.

Mill Road (Hawkes Bay) 2019 Merlot Cabernet

Tasting Note - Concentrated aromas of ripe dark fruits and chocolate with a hint of tobacco. The palate is full bodied, plump and juicy with sweet ripe fruit flavours supported by fine chalky tannins. 

Winemaking - The grapes for this wine were sourced from two of our Hawkes Bay vineyards – Tantallon and Campbell Brook. The grapes were harvested from the respective vineyards and transported to our Riverview winery were they were crushed to open topped stainless steel fermentation vessels and inoculated with a range of yeast strains. The ferments were pumped over several times per day until dry and then allowed from 2 to 5 days extended maceration. The wine was then pressed off the skins and some was put to barrel where it was aged for 12 months before blending with components which had been matured in stainless steel. The wine was then transported by road tanker to our Katikati winery for final blending and finishing.

Olcaviana (Spain) 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon

AMAZING VALUE 100% Organic wine from our friends at Sierra Norte 

Once the grapes have arrive at the cellars, they are cooled to delay the fermentation, while frequent pump-overs are carried out to achieve a better extraction of colour, aroma precursors and only the soft tannins. The alcoholic fermentation is then done at a controlled temperature of 22-24°C with gentle pumping over. The marc is pressed in a pneumatic press, and then the malolactic fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks.

A dark, cherry-red colour with purple glints. Intense and lingering fruit character showing strawberries and redcurrants. Fresh on the palate with lively tannins and a lingering sensation of spice.

A very deep black cherry colour with a light-purple rim. On the nose, nice red berry and black fruit aromas, such as strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrants are underpinned by creamy, slightly toasty oak, together with touches of spice and liquorice. Very flavoursome on the palate, fruit-forward, with rounded tannins, good acidity and slight hints of vanilla, smoke and toast. A wine with both individual character and harmonious balance.
