Mt Difficultys' Roaring Meg Pinot Noir is the secondary label of legendary iconic brand Mt.Difficulty.

““Deep, dark, and dense with notes of red and black cherry, red currant, and a touch of baking spice. this leads into an opulent palate full of boysenberry, strawberry, and black cherry fruit. A touch of cinnamon and star anise spice from the oak balances the wine. A long finish flows through with silky tannins.”.”

A juicy and enticing Pinot Noir from Central Otago. Aromas of bold cherry and fresh red berries are underpinned by savoury notes and spicy oak. On the palate, dark fruit flavours flow into a smooth palate, delivering a long finish with fine tannins and juicy acidity.

Classic Merlot aromas of decadent plum and dark cherry are complemented by hints of mint and dried herbs. Soft and medium-bodied, the palate is full of juicy plum and blackberry, spliced with mint, black pepper and warming aniseed spice. The finish is long and generous. Sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the Hawke's Bay, the oldest wine region in New Zealand.

Once the grapes have arrive at the cellars, they are cooled to delay the fermentation, while frequent pump-overs are carried out to achieve a better extraction of colour, aroma precursors and only the soft tannins. The alcoholic fermentation is then done at a controlled temperature of 22-24°C with gentle pumping over. The marc is pressed in a pneumatic press, and then the malolactic fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks.

A dark, cherry-red colour with purple glints. Intense and lingering fruit character showing strawberries and redcurrants. Fresh on the palate with lively tannins and a lingering sensation of spice.

A brilliant, light pink colour. An intensely aromatic nose with plenty of red berry fruit notes (redcurrants, cherries and strawberries) together with subtle hints of rose petals. Well-structured on the palate, flavoursome, full and balanced. Fresh acidity brings the wine a vivacious, lively character. It develops magnificently on the palate towards a long and flavoursome finish, in which varietal flavours come to the fore.

Excellent with appetisers and cold dishes, salads, vegetables, white meats or rice dishes.

100% Tempranillo. The grapes are picked up by hand and put in small baskets by selecting them from the same vineyards. Aged 6 months in French and American oak barriques in a 16th century underground cellar, at a constant temperature of 12ºC.

Dark red color, cherry rim. Toasted aromas, spicy, and slightly creamy oak. Rich and tasty in the mouth, fruity and well balanced.

Serve with: White and red meat, cheese and pâtés.
