Alto Los Romeros wines from Luis Felipe Edwards. Easy drinking and unbeatable value range of Chilean wines.

The grapes for this wine come from Chile's winegrowing heartland- the Central Valley, and are expertly managed to enhance the fruit characteristics. Yellow in color with golden highlights. On the nose shows notes of white fruits and pineapple, and a touch of almonds from precise contact with lightly toasted French oak. On the palate it shows a refreshing acidity with a good initial attack, followed with a creaminess and unction in the midpalate, lending to a well-balanced and fresh wine.

Quaffable easy drinking Chardonnay. Try with Pasta and Risotto.

An alcohol-removed option that still exhibits typical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc characteristics. We create premium, full-strength Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, before using advanced spinning cone technology to gently remove first the aroma, and then the alcohol. The delicate aroma is collected and recombined with the wine to maintain its distinctive nose. The final blend retains weight and mouthfeel with a small amount of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc grape juice and natural yeast proteins to build texture, without adding sugar. This results in a refreshing style of non-alcoholic wine with low calories.

"Parcels of fruit were fermented separately in large format French and German oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation was introduced to balance the wines acidity. After maturing in barrel for 9 months the wines were tasted and blended. Further aging in tank on light lees added greater complexity before bottling. This Marlborough Chardonnay shows wonderful complexity, fresh aromas & flavours of citrus, stonefruit and hints of Hazlenuts with a long, focused finish"

Ata Rangi (Martinborough) 2021 Potiki Chardonnay

Commercial description
"This is a youthful wine that’s delicious drinking now, but it will also reward further with cellar age.Pōtiki, meaning ‘last born’ in Maori, is blended from a selection of newer plantings and some of our more established blocks on the Martinborough Terrace.Hand-picked fruit was whole bunch pressed, with the unsettled juice fully barrel fermented in Burgundy 300L puncheon barrels (20% new) using indigenous yeasts. Partial malolactic. Aged in barrel on lees for 13 months.  Barrel fermented in 300 litre puncheons with indigenous yeasts. The 2020 vintage Is concentrated and detailed, balanced with vibrant acidity. The aroma is a wonderful blend of fennel notes, rock melon and citrus blossom. The palate is focused, with a salty, mineral line that finishes with flavours of fresh white almond."

Bay and Barnes (Australia) 2022 Chardonnay

Made by the good folks at Giesen Wines from selected Australian fruit.

Following harvest, fruit was gently pressed before settling. Specially selected yeasts were used to start fermentation. From there the wine matured on French oak for eight months with regular lees stirring to maximise flavour.

Enjoy this Chardonnay with a group of friends or match with a classic pasta or risotto.

Bay and Barnes (South Africa) 2023 Sauvignon Blanc

Bay and Barnes is named after two separate blocks of grapes in Marlborough. However due to the low yields in the 2021 vintage the clever folks at Giesen wines have sourced this wine from South Africa instead. This style being highly similar to the Kiwi version.

Fresh citrus aromas invite exploration and are followed by a fresh palate with fruit and citrus zest. This easy-drinking wine finishes beautifully long and perfectly balanced.

Carrick Bannockburn Chardonnay is produced from the Cairnmuir Vineyard. It is barrel fermented ( primarily in older oak), using natural yeast, and demonstrates the elegance and minerality of a quality Chardonnay.

An attractive nose with plenty of citrus, mealy oak, stone and tropical fruit aromas. The palate is textural, precise and long. The lush ripe fruit is finely balanced by a crisp clean acidity giving the wine beautiful balance and good focus. A wine with rich minerality, excellent length and a mouthwatering sweet fruit finish that is slightly creamy.

Hand-picked from mature vines at Te Awanga, it is fermented and matured in French oak casks (typically 40 to 50 per cent new). Already enjoyable, the 2021 vintage is a bright, light yellow/green, fresh, mouthfilling wine, with rich, vibrant, stonefruit flavours, slightly toasty and buttery notes adding complexity, and a very finely balanced, lengthy finish. Giesen Brothers (Germany) 2019 Mosel Riesling

Back in the early 1900s, August Giesen was well-known for travelling to Mosel to buy whole barrels of the region’s world famous Riesling. The Giesen brothers’ fond memories of their grandfather’s trips prompted them to purchase a vineyard and make wine in Germany’s most regarded region.

Expect aromas of tangerine, orange blossom, exotic notes of rose petal and orange marmalade. On the palate, look for citrus flavours, marmalade, and hints of nutmeg. A rich, vibrant wine with mouth-watering acidity and a long finish. Handpicking ensures only perfectly ripe fruit is selected. Following harvest the grapes were gently pressed followed by six hours of maceration to ensure their full, intense flavour was retained. Giesen Mosel Reiler Goldlay Riesling is a great aperitif or equally enjoyable matched with a meal. Germans love pork and Giesen Mosel and pork are a perfect match - try it with slow roasted pork belly or even a BLT.

Each parcel of Pinot Gris is harvested at optimum ripeness. Short skin contact adds flavour and texture to the wine. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, we used very select aromatic yeasts to make the wine more intense. We stopped the ferment early to retain a small amount of acidity and natural sugar to give the wine it’s off-dryness. The wine was held on lees for two months to help build mouth feel & texture, then blended and bottled.

Giesen Organic (Marlborough) 2020 Sauvignon Blanc

To create an organic Sauvignon Blanc with intense flavour and texture our winemakers separated the juice into three parcels and treated each one differently. One was fermented clean and bright to create intense aromatics, the second received a wild fermentation which adds texture and depth of flavour and the final component was fermented in oak barrels to create a wine with rich mouth-feel. The winemakers then tasted each parcel and blended to create an organic wine of intense aromatics and generous flavour and length. 

Vibrant citrus flavours infused with peach, fennel and nettle aromas. A fairly full bodied wine with generous fruit weight.
