5 Stars - Sam Kim Wine Orbit
"It’s delightfully ripe and immediately appealing with Black Doris plum, blueberry, floral and almond characters with a hint of spicy overtone. Succulent fruit flavours with plump mouthfeel and silky tannins, finishing lingering and velvety. Gorgeously ripe and plush, offering terrific drinking."

92 Points - Cameron Douglas
"A bouquet filled with scents of black currant and baked cranberry, there’s some dark cherry moemnts then violets and fresh milk chocolate. Oak layers in with scents of vanilla and dark spices. Taut, youthful, new and fruity on the palate. Dry with flavours of marzipan and dark berries, almond nut and baking spices, toasty barrel, firm tannins and a back bone of acidity. Overall a lovely wine that needs time to settle and develop. Best drinking from early 2025 through 2030+. It would be great to try this wine again in 18 months time."

This little beauty is a Gimblett Gravels Bargain, Syrah. Not usually do these words go in the same sentence.!!

Overseen by winemaker extraordinaire Rod Macdonald, the Hawkes Bay Wine Company focused on wines from the Bay.

This Syrah is from a single clone of grapes, from the renowned Gimblett Gravels area that produces top notch reds. A plush and super, ripe styled Syrah. Weighty mouthfeel, filled with flavours of Cherry, Blueberry and Boysenberry. A smoky undertone back by prickly acidity and soft powdery tannins.

Delivers well above its price point.
