Silver Medal - Hawkes Bay Wine Awards

4.5 Stars 90 Points - Sam Kim Wine Orbit
"It’s delightfully ripe and immediately appealing with dark plum, sweet cherry, floral, subtle spice and roasted nut aromas. The palate displays silky mouthfeel together with juicy fruit intensity, finishing long and comforting. Attractively styled and harmonious."

This little beauty is a Gimblett Gravels Bargain, Syrah. Not usually do these words go in the same sentence.!! Making this all together clever buying.

Overseen by winemaker extraordinaire Rod Macdonald, the Hawkes Bay Wine Company focused on wines from the Bay.

This Syrah is from a single clone of grapes, from the renowned Gimblett Gravels area that produces top notch reds. A plush and super, ripe styled Syrah. Weighty mouthfeel, filled with flavours of Cherry, Blueberry and Boysenberry. A smoky undertone back by prickly acidity and soft powdery tannins. Punches well above its price point.
