A thoroughly reliable pink for summer – or anytime...

The 2018 vintage of MIP* Made in Provence Classic was by far the best option for its quality at the price. Made from 60% Cinsault, 20% Syrah and 20% Grenache, it epitomises the style: pale coral in colour, with pure redcurrant and strawberry fruit flavours, smooth texture, moderate acidity and satisfying persistence. There is nothing unusual about how it is made, nor any notable marketing angle – instead, it is a rock-solid example of a rightfully popular style.

As a category, Provence rosé may not be the best bargain around, but MIP* Made in Provence Classic is one of the best and most reliable of them.

Virginie Fabre and Guillaume Philip arrived at the foot of Sainte-Victoire in 2005. Both graduates from the Montpellier wine school, where in the lecture theatres they also concocted their plan for their idyll. It didn’t take them long to implement their know-how in terms of both production and marketing, with the young couple creating, among other new products, the MiP brand – standing for Made in Provence

In 2011, Le Domaine des Diables was awarded the Award for Excellence in the Concours Général Agricole competition. This prize rewards the consistency of the estate in the quality of its products by certifying in particular the respect of good production practices as well as the taste qualities. Today, the young couple is proud to be able to exhibit this trophy in their cellar, a trophy which has been awarded to them for nine consecutive years by the successive Ministers of Agriculture
