From the fabulos Quinta Dos Roques estate in the Dao region central, northern Portugal.

Touriga Nacional (40%), Jaen (20%), Alfrocheiro (15%), Tinta Roriz (10%), Tinto Cão (3%) Rufete (2%) and others not named (10%).  Some of these varieties would almost certainly be extinct if it was not for the work of this estate.

Aged in French oak for 15mnths. Cellar for up to 10 years.

A brilliant deep dark colour, with an intense fruit bouquet showing, wild blackcurrants and pine leaves, vanilla and chocolate. On the palate it is very generous with the remarkable depth of flavour. Meaty in structure with chalky and robust tannins. Come back to this wine three days later and it's still fantastic!

Great with all hearty fare like beef, lamb and duck.
