Matahiwi Reserve (Wairarapa) 2022 Chardonnay

On the nose fresh elderflower, melon and stonefruit are enhanced by smoky oak and fresh bread aromas. The palate is packed with ripe lemon, nectarine, butter and toast , underpinned with a fine mineral thread. Excellent on its own this wine is versatile with food, fresh flounder and lemongrass , or chicken puff pie being a few favourites.

The grapes for this wine were sourced Peter Briant’s vineyard in the Patutahi region just across the river from Matawhero.

Pale straw with golden highlights. Aroma is citrus blossom, floral and orange zest notes. Lime, stonefruit and honeysuckle flavours with nice acidity cover the palate. Enjoy with seafood and poultry. Vegan Friendly.

Mt Difficulty (Otago) 2021 Roaring Meg Chardonnay

"Roaring Meg Chardonnay 2019 supple with flavours of nectarine and citrus introducing the wine. A textured soft mid-palate draws you into the wine. White fleshed peach drives the finish alongside a hint of phenolic interest. Generous and giving."

Fruit was hand-picked at peak ripeness on the 3rd, 4th, 8th, 11th and 12th of April, from Bannockburn, Pisa and Bendigo. The fruit was handled in an oxidative fashion, destemmed and pressed to concrete egg. We fermented 70% of the juice in egg, with the balance in old barriques, all with full solids using indigenous yeasts. Whilst maturing no lees stirring was utilised. The wine went through a full malolactic fermentation in spring, after which the barriques were stirred for a period. The wine was racked and filtered before being bottled, unfined, in March.

This Pinot Noir Rosé exhibits a gorgeous watermelon complexion. Savoury raspberry competes with rhubarb compote and hints of rose petal. Bright raspberry notes introduce the wine, these then flow into a linear mid palate and a clean mineral finish.

Mt Difficulty (Otago) 2024 Bannockburn Pinot Gris

Mt Difficulty Pinot Gris is a full bodied, rich style Gris with a step up in class you’d expect from a producer like Mount Difficulty. A result of a warmer vintage shows ripe melon, white fleshed stonefruit, pear and fresh ginger aromatic notes. The palate displays these same characters in abundance focusing on ripe succulent peach and pear notes, while the mid palate is full, creamy and well textured. The wine has a rich, spice infused finish.

Citrus and stonefruit aromas are complemented by a hint of toasty oak in this Marlborough Chardonnay. The palate is elegant and generously weighted with a soft texture. Ripe stonefruit and citrus flavours provide juicy acidity, complemented by a hint of flinty minerality and subtle oak spice.

Mud House (Marlborough) 2023 Sauvignon Blanc

This gorgeous example of Marlborough ‘Savvy’ has it all – snowpea, nettles and guava on the nose, complemented by citrus and melon on the palate. The front palate is peppered with notes of melon and citrus, while the crisp grapefruit-like acidity lingers and adds texture. We keep every vineyard batch separate throughout the winemaking process until blending. The final process is fining and filtering, before the wine is then bottled.

A juicy and lively Pinot Gris, with hints of red apple, pear and ginger spice. Pale straw  with aromas of spicy red apple, ripe pear and a hint of ginger. A lively palate with juicy fruit flavours, and warming ginger spice. The vibrant acidity lingers, drawing out to a refreshing finish.

This wine has been made utilising the traditional techniques which have made the Chardonnay of the Burgundy region in France so famous. Pegasus Bay thus adopt a hands-off approach so that until the last, or blending, stage, the wine has largely made itself.

It has a pale lemon sheen, with profound citrus, floral and tropical notes. The palate is vibrant and energised, with layered citrus, racy acidity, and a hint of spritzig giving a zesty, lemon sherbet mouthfeel. Created in the 1990’s as part of the evolving Penfolds white wine development program, Bin 51 captures many attributes of the Eden Valley locale. The region’s high altitude and cool-climate induces riesling with great finesse and elegance with a capacity for long-term cellaring. South Australia has gained worldwide recognition for producing definitive world-class riesling and Eden Valley always features. In their youth, the wines possess scented floral and citrus aromas, with a mineral edge and marked natural acidity, contributing significantly to the palate texture and flavour.
