LAST OF THIS BRAND FOREVER!
93 Points Rated Excellent - Cameron Douglas (2020 vintage)
"White flowers and white peaches, a touch of salty air, lemon and wet silty soils aromas. Classic flavours and textures on the palate with a peach then lemon, silky then tense and youthful mouthfeel. Flavours reflect the nose with stone fruits moving into citrus. Lots of acidity, lovely core of fruit and a lengthy vibrant finish. Balanced and well made, youthful and age worthy. Best drinking upon purchase and through 2023+"

Albarino is ever so trendy right now. Originating in Spain & Portugal. There are a few choice examples in NZ. If you love a Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling or other crisp mineral like white wine. Try this.. A beautifully made, family owned, Small production, Single vineyard wine from Middle Earth in Nelson. Aromas of lemon curd and blossoms. Chalky and full mouth feel with flavour of lemon and lime citrus. Balanced zippy, lightning bright acidity. God damn this is tasty!
Winery note
"Our Albarino is just a small sliver of vineyard immediately adjacent to the winery and is always keenly watched. Inoculated with a yeast strain chosen for the ability to emphasize a real breeziness of character, the ensuing ferment was carefully regulated with cooling to further maintain the aromatic potential. Once only 6g/L of residual sugar remained the ferment was arrested. This small lick of sugar serves only to balance the icy acidity this variety is revered for. Pale lemon in colour with pronounced primary aromatics of white florals and oyster shell. Secondary aromas hint at lees contact and a wine rich in terpenes. This wine has excellent attack thanks to the brisk acidity yet continues on to offer a pleasing mouth filling experience. An interesting standalone drink that pairs fabulously with Kaimoana and garden-fresh salads."
