International Trophy - International Wine Challenge (2013 Vintage)
4 Stars - Joelle Thomson "
This juicy Argentinian star shows what great Malbec is all about - dark, dry, full
bodied and rich but also – surprisingly –accessible with its ripe berry fruit flavours. It’s a stunner for $20. Awesome buying from Argentina" - Joelle Thomson

Malbec is synonymous with Argentina. A country that inspires tango and flamboyance. Sweet aromas of raisins and plum jam outstand. Elegant touch of smoke, pipe tobacco and vanilla notes dominate the nose.
The palate is very well balanced with sweet and soft tannins offers an harmonious bouquet. Fruity attack full of plums and chocolate notes combined with sweet and soft tannins. Dry fruits such as almonds and nuts appear at the end giving a very pleasant finish.

Don David is the reserve range of Michel Torino made up from the best grape selection. The aim in the vineyard is to gain concentration and to maximise fruit extraction. To obtain concentration and balance only vines older than 20 years are harvested. The harvest is manual, putting clusters in small 22 kg boxes. Pre-fermentation macerations takes place over 3 days at 5° C. Intense works is done during fermentation to gain good structure using 85% of selected yeasts. Post fermentations are handled up to a maximum of 30 days. After spontaneous malolactic fermentation, 70% of the wine is aged in small barrels of both American (40%) and French (60%) Oak for 12 months.

An excellent example of the renowned Argie Malbec. Good full bodied value for money. I have travelled there many times and sampled a huge range and this is up with some of the best.

If you want a change from shiraz or cabernet savignon and want a nice full flavoured wine with body give this a try. The review said dark in colour but I found it had a lovely bright red colour in the glass and nice powerful nose. We had it with spinnach and ricotta canneloniwith a tomato based sauce and matched very well

Classic Malbec, ticks all the boxes. Intense colour, aromas of ras berries and cherry. We'll balanced and full in the mouth with that lingering peppery finish that is Malbec.

Intense dark red colour. A rich, full-bodied wine with concentrated fruit flavours of blackberries and dark cherry, with notes of vanilla and oak. Perfect with pasta, red meat dishes, such as beef or lamb, and a great alternative to Shiraz.

A fine example of a good quality Argentinian Malbec. Much enjoyed in my household when accompanying a flavoursome red meat dish like Boeuf Bourguignon

17.5/20 Raymond Chan
"Full, near-saturated black-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has an elegantly concentrated and rich nose of ripe blackberry and plum fruit entwined with notes of liquorice and cedary, toasty oak, along with hints of oak resin, eucalypt and chocolate. Medium-full bodied, the fruit flavours are a little restrained, but unfold to show sweet, ripe plum and liquorice notes. Blackberry, earth, cedary oak and eucalypt layers add detail. The mouthfeel is plush and juicy, and balanced by supple tannin extraction lending structure, presence and weight. The wine flows with underlying alcohol power, carrying to a fresh, sustained finish with liquorice and cedar notes. This is a weighty, ripe, supple Shiraz with restrained plum, liquorice and cedary flavours. Match with barbecued and roasted red meats and casseroles over the next 5+ years." Raymond Chan

Evenwood Barossa Shiraz has been our number one selling red wine for the last 7 years. The 2015 is a new vintage and is tasting better than ever. In the glass the wine has deep red and garnet hues. This follows through to a generous nose of spice, mulberry preserve, dark chocolate, mocca and vanilla tones. Complexity builds as the wine opens further with hints of earthy beetroot and tea rose. The savoury palate shows blood plums with sweet spice leading onto soft tannins.

Evenwood (Barossa) 2014 Premium Reserve Shiraz

Evenwood Barossa Shiraz has been our number one selling red wine for the last 6 years and we are very pleased to offer the new Evenwood Premium Reserve Shiraz. This wine shows all the hallmarks of Barossa Shiraz in a balanced and restrained package. The fruit aromatics are all about red plum, cherries and savoury herbs. This is a medium to full depth wine with balanced fruit concentration. The palate is full of savouriness, texture, black olives and has an evenness flowing from start to finish. This is about being soft and supple yet also rich and textural; an even line of tannins completes the wine. Cellar for 5 to 7 years.

4 Stars - Joelle Thomson "A meaty dark red with pronounced
grainy tannins, a full body and lots of life ahead of it, thanks to its muscular power.
This wine is good value for money, drinks
well now and is best served in a large glass to allow the air to soften its tannins; cellar

for 4 to 5 years" Joelle Thomson
