This attractive, soft Pinot Noir shows red berry, dark plum and cherry flavours with fragrant fresh hay and savoury oak characters. On the palate, it is soft and round, with a hint of spicy smoky oak and a long finish.

The Matahiwi vineyard is situated on an alluvial boulder ridge in the Masterton district of Wairarapa. With warm free draining soils and the cool dry local climate this is an ideal place to grow Pinot noir. This Wairarapa Pinot Noir combines lifted aromas of dark fruit and with a slight hint of earthiness. The palate full of cherry fruit, spice and soft tannins.
